Kate Johnston has held corporate positions, been a consultant in the industry, owned her own handbag business and been an independent contractor. Most recently she was director of protective services for ProtectRKidz.com, a Web site that provides a way for loved ones to easily gather and store crucial information about their children in the security of their own homes. Prior to that she was head of customer service, dispute resolution and sales support worldwide for Dubli.com in Berlin, Germany. There she was customer service head for their online reverse auction business for both its European and U.S.-based independent contractor sales force of 10,000 and for its retail customer base. She has been the president/director of investor relations for Travelogia.com, a national online travel company with a proprietary software program. Johnston has been a consultant for TWIG (The Wood International Group), out of Irvine, Calif., a marketing consultant to Isagenix International of Chandler, Ariz., and acted as marketing co-chair for the “Raising the Roof” fundraiser for the St. Anthony Foundation in San Francisco. She had been an independent contractor for Pre-Paid Legal and The Peoples Network. In traditional business, Johnston worked for General Foods Worldwide in Honolulu as a sales representative and progressed to chain account executive. Johnston’s education includes a bachelor’s of science degree in home economics from the University of California, Davis and a secondary teaching credential from Sacramento State University.
